I recently came across the eBook (online book) The Reason Your Church Must Twitter written by Anthony D. Coppedge, a church consultant and writer. I found the eBook to be a great resource on Twitter with tons of great information about how your church can utilize Twitter as a way to communicate with staff and members as well as foster deeper connections among your members. The book covers everything from the basics of how to use Twitter to various strategies churches can employ with Twitter.

Social media, or Web 2.0, is all the rage. Since millions of people are flocking to the various social media, it’s a great opportunity for churches. We’ve been looking at the various forms of social media and how Church’s can use social media as part of their church marketing strategy and more importantly, use social media to share the message of Jesus Christ. I recently came a cross an article on CNNMoney.com about a video production company that produces short online videos quickly and inexpensively. The company, TurnHere, is now producing online videos at the rate of about 1000 videos a month for an average of only $1000 per video. The article focuses on the possibilities for businesses to use TurnHere’s services to market themselves both on video sharing sites like YouTube and on local search sites such as the online Yellow Pages and CitySearch, but churches can use these services as well.

In the last article, I wrote about how Facebook provides a great opportunity for the church to market itself through their members’ network of friends. We talked about how members can live out their church lives on Facebook, like they live out the rest of their lives and by doing so, can be telling their friends about Christ and their church in a natural, non-invasive way. Not only it is non-invasive, but it’s also free which can be very nice is todays ecomonic climate. So, I thought this post I would list some ideas of ways your members can do this. I’d encourage you to bring this up with your church members and encourage them to actively use Facebook to promote your church and share the love of Christ with their friends. Read more…
