I subscribe to several blogs and newsletters. So, I frequently receive emails or RSS feeds with articles, information, and announcements. Yesterday, I got an invitation to download an eBook. What was the eBook about? I don’t know…or at least I didn’t know for a while. Why?

There is an increase in the number of people talking about Internet Evangelism Day in the last week; however, not much that offers any original ideas to the mix. Paul over at the Christian Web Trends blog put together a list of the various articles he had found this week related to Internet Evangelism Day. You can find that list at: Read more…

Last week we talked about some of the different kinds of podcasts your church may want to consider. The sermon and Bible class podcasts are pretty straight forward in terms of content and how to do them (though I’ll give some tips in a future post “Podcasts – Techy Stuff for Geeks”), but studio podcasts are a little less obvious. So, I thought I’d give some tips for how to plan and produce a good studio podcast. This week I’ll focus on the planning and next post I’ll look at some production tips. Read more…

April 26th is Internet Evangelism Day. So, leading up to Internet Evangelism Day I thought I would write some posts about Internet evangelism and point you to some other blog posts in other blogs that are related to Internet Evangelism Day as a way to help us all to consider how we can use the Internet, not only for church marketing, but evangelism as well.
A couple days ago in the Christian Web Trends blog, Paul Steinbrueck put together a help list of resources related to Internet Evangelism Day. The list includes website/articles about how to share Christ with others online as well as articles about what other groups and churches are doing for Internet Evangelism and what kind of impact they are having. In the Church Marketing Online blog, we primarily focus on ways of using online marketing to promote your church; however, we don’t really spend much time discussing how to use the Internet for evangelism. April 26th is Internet Evangelism Day. So, during the next couple of weeks I thought I’d take a little time to talk about online evangelism and link to some other articles about Internet evangelism. It’s been a couple of weeks since the last Church Marketing Online post. I didn’t want you all to think I’d gotten lazy or quit. Nope, I just had to take a little break to become a daddy. Last week my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Both my wife and the baby are healthy and my wife and I are very excited for this blessing. We give all thanks and praise to the Lord!
I’m back now and will be posting new messages this week.
God bless!

Last week we looked at what a podcast is, basically a pre-recorded, online, radio show that is distributed via RSS to all those who subscribe to the feed. Ok, so it may sound like a neat concept. I’ve always wanted to do a radio show, but is this really for churches? Should your church podcast and, if so, why? Read more…
