Smart phones are becoming more the standard than the “cool new tech” and with the proliferation of smart phones, more and more people are using their phones for Internet access. In fact Cisco said mobile traffic was up 260% last year and is predicting that mobile traffic will increase 26 fold in the next 4 years. So, how does that effect churches?

With the increase in smart phone use, apps have become common place. As for me, I have an app for Facebook, an app for the JoyFM, an app for coupons, and I think there’s even an app to manage all my apps. But what I don’t have is an app for my church…because my church doesn’t have an app.
Why not? Good question.
Maybe it’s because my church, like most, doesn’t know if there is an interest from the population for an app or, if there is, what features the app should have. Good thing OurChurch.Com is conducting survey of to find out how much interest there is for a mobile app for churches.
