The other day, I posted about a video of Kelsey and the miraculous story of her birth. You can view the video here. This is an amazing story, but also a great example of how taking a few minutes to setup sharing buttons on content can make a huge difference in how much your content is shared.
I mentioned when I wrote yesterday about how the video as shown on Godvine.com had over 271,000 shares on Facebook. An awesome number of shares, especially for only 3 days.
Interestingly, I also did a few searches in Twitter and only found a little over 40 tweets. If you look at the Godvine video page, though, you’ll notice they don’t have a Tweet button integrated into their site. Huge mistake! What a clear example of how making sharing as easy as clicking a button effects how much people share something.
Make sure your church’s website has Facebook and Twitter buttons. Every page should have a way to fan or follow your church. Everything that you want people to share (event announcements, blog articles, member stories, videos, etc.) should also have a Facebook share button and a Twitter Tweet button. It should only take a few minutes to setup, but can be the difference between your content going viral or going nowhere.
