20 Ways Pastors Can Mess Everything Up On Facebook

Facebook and PastorsSocial media, especially Facebook, is fantastic opportunity for churches and Pastors to connect with church members and members of their community.  But, like most things, Facebooking as a Pastor can cause more harm than good if not done right.

Paul Steinbrueck over at Christian Web Trends posted a couple articles with “18 Ways Pastors Can Ruin Their Reputation on Facebook” that have a lot of good things to keep in mind as pastors connect with people through Facebook.

One of the commenter’s added:

19: Begging for gifts or tithes.

I would also add one more to the list…

20. Post every Christian “chain wall post” that comes along. Personally, I would rather no one posted anything that ended with “…If this is true for you, post it to your wall”.  But that’s just me.
